Warm weather means time for a summer haircut. Mason had his second haircut a few weeks ago and got to experience the clippers for the first time. He was great with the whole experience and the stylist even gave him an edgy "faux hawk" with gel and everything! We haven't styled it like this since then but he sure looked cute.

Summ, Summ, Summertime!
Woohoo!! It's finally here: summer holidays! (Okay, I must admit that my 7 week stint at work went by extremely fast and I really didn't feel that "I need summer now" feeling at the end of June but I am still happy to be off for the next 2 months.)

Summer also means heading to the beach and hanging out on outdoor patios. We went to the Dard for lunch last week and Mason and daddy were checking out the "sea gulls" (wink, wink) along the shoreline. It seems like such a long time ago that Scott was managing the Dard and I was slinging drinks. We both agreed that although we had a blast working in the industry, we don't miss that lifestyle and wouldn't change where we are now for the world.
Summer also means taking leisurely strolls in small-town Ontario and checking out the local cafes and festivities. We went to Creemore for Canada Day and stopped for a coffee and snack at one of the little cafes (it was too early for Creemore Springs!) Mason remained in his backpack carrier and made silly faces in between bites.
Back at home, I tried to get a picture of Mason with the flag but he was only interested in what Daddy was doing. You will notice he is sitting on a blanket. Mason HATES the feel of grass on his skin. It is quite funny to watch him freak out when he comes in contact with the green blades. He tries to lift both legs in the air while holding his arms up but this causes him to lose his balance and he must then drop one leg to the ground in order to steady himself. This is almost too much for him to handle as he then starts to whine and cry for us to pick him up off of the grass (which we do after a few chuckles and soothing comments). Maybe by the end of summer he will be better with this.
I hope that all of you are having a fantastic summer! Stay tuned for more of Mason's summer adventures...
