Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!!
There is a great little zoo located only 15 minutes from our house that has all of the animals that you would expect at a larger zoo: lions, giraffes, monkeys, tigers, camels, flamingos, llamas, reptiles, etc. This morning Mason and I checked it out with my friend Philly and her two twin girls Claire and Sophia.
It wasn't too busy and we were able to get quite close to a lot of the animals. In this second picture Mason is watching the little deer as they are being fed by other visitors.
The goats were fun to watch as they would come right up to the fence looking for food. We fed them from our hands and when Mason gets a little bigger we will go into the pen and pet them.
We only stayed about an hour and a half as Mason soon grew bored with the whole excursion. You can see in this bottom picture that he was more interested in his book than the llamas right beside him. I bought a season's pass so we will be making many more trips to see the animals and play at the Zoo's playground.

Grandma B's Birthday
Last weekend we went to Uncle Peter's and Aunt Karen's to celebrate Grandma Bradley's birthday. What a great day! The weather was warm and sunny and we spent the entire day outside around the pool.
Mason had so much fun watching his cousins run around and also found Guitar Hero to be quite mesmerizing later on in the day! (Brad is quite good at this game.)

The pool was a little cool for Mason but he really enjoyed sitting on the edge and dipping his feet in. This was also the perfect spot to watch all of the splashing action in the pool!
Happy Birthday Grandma Bradley!

On the Move!
Well, it's been awhile since my last posting. Life has definitely gotten much busier since my return to work a month ago. I can't believe that I just finished my 5th week back! (Only 2 more weeks until summer holidays - yeaahhh!) This first picture was taken on my first day back to work. Mason looks a little too happy don't you think?

Mason has adjusted extremely well to my going back to work. He loves his daycare and looks forward to playing with all of his new friends. In fact, Mason loves to play with his friends so much that he will no longer take a morning nap as he would rather stay up and hang out with the big kids. He will now nap for 3 hours in the afternoon as he is so tired from his morning activities. He has even started to take only one nap on the weekends too and I must say that I am enjoying this as we can get out and do things in the mornings now. (Tomorrow we are going to the Zoo!)
Mason has also changed so much in the past 5 weeks. He is becoming quite the little boy and has such a great personality! He has learned how to clap, wave, point and CRAWL all since I have returned to work. Scott was actually home with Mason on the day that he finally figured out how to crawl and we were both so glad that one of us got to share this experience firsthand rather than hear about it from Mason's daycare provider.
Now that Mason is crawling we are a lot busier trying to watch his every move. He usually heads directly for his books so that he can pull them off of the shelf one by one. He never seems to tire of this! He is also trying so hard to communicate with us now. It is so funny to hear him jabber away and giggle at us and at his toys. He does say mama and dada but I can't wait until he starts to say other words and begin to form sentences. It truly is amazing how much he has grown and changed over the past 13 months!
We are all settling into our new routine but this will soon be disrupted again in 2 weeks when I am off for the summer. I am looking forward to the summer months and spending my days once again with Mason.
